Haridwar
- gateway to the four pilgrimages in the Uttrakhand region, is
located on the foot hills of Shivaliks. It is on the banks of River
Ganga. The Ganga leaves the mountains and enters the plains with
Haridwar being the first major town on the plains.
Rishikesh - Just 24 Kms from Haridwar, Rishikesh is
an important destination and iss considered to be the access point of
three other pilgrim places of Badrinath - Kedarnath, Gangotri and
Yamunotri; the four great places which combine to make Chardham .
Rishikesh is surrounded by scenic beauty of the hills on three sides
with Holy Ganga flowing through it.
Badrinath - The word Badrinath is derived from the
Badri Van, where the lush green Badri trees grow heavily. One of the
Char Dham pilgrim centers for the Hindus; millions of tourists throng
Badrinath every year.
Almora - Almora is a scenic destination in the Kumaun
region, East of Uttaranchal in India, with an overwhelming panoramic
view of Himalayas. The hill stations welcomes tourists from all over the
worldwide with its alluring grandeur of natural beauty.
Nainitaal - This is one of the famous hill resort of
Uttranchal. The city is popular for encompassing nine lake ( Nine taals)
and hence it got its name. This dreamland town with its beauteous
grandeur is one of the most popular tourist resorts of the country.

Jim
Corbett Park - You just cannot miss Jim Corbett on your Uttaranchal
tour. Corbett National Park is one of the greatest National Parks in
Asia with over 1300 sq kms of forests, hills and grasslands, fed by a
frisky river. Its proximity to Delhi and prolific wildlife makes Corbett
one of the must visit destinations in India.Among Ind's nature reserves,
this is the best known because of Jim Corbett, the audicious hunter of
the man eating tigers of Kumaon. The park was established in 1935 and
was given Corbett's name after India became independent.
Auli
Skiing - For those who love more adventure, Auli will give you
an exciting offer. Ski at the Auli slopes with its panoramic views of
the high Himalayan mountains including Nanda Devi, Mana and Kamet. Auli
is an ideal place for those who love this sport.
Connectivity
By Air - Uttaranchal has just one hill station -
Jolly Grant. This airport is connected to Delhi and other parts of
India.
By Rail - There are three major rail heads in
Uttaranchal - Dehradun, Haridwar, and Kathgodam are the major railway
stations connected to almost all parts of the country with regular
trains. Not many places in the state are connected by rail because of
tough terrains. For those planning their vacations in the higher
altitudes, trekking and road routes are the only options available.
By Road - The state is well connected with roads to
other parts of northern India. National Highways such as 58, 73, 74, and
87 connect places in the state to other parts of the country.
Uttranchal
in the northern part of India is blessed with rushing rivers, awesome
snow-coated peaks, bewildering lakes, venerated temples and a bursting
plethora of flora and fauna. Uttaranchal shares international borders with
Nepal and China.
