Solang Valley - Solang valley in Manali offers a
panoramic view of glaciers, snow capped mountains and peaks. The
Mountaineering Institute has installed a ski lift for training purpose.
The 12-km hike up the western banks of the Beas to the Solang Valley is
quiet spectacular.
Handima Temple - Dating back to 1553, the Hadimba
Temple is constructed around a natural cave. Hadimba Temple enshrines
the footprints of the goddess Hadimba. Hadimba was the wife of Bhima,
one of the five great Pandava brothers of the Mahabharata, and later
became the patron goddess of the Kulu royal family.
Manu Temple - Another attraction which is near to
the Hadimba temple is on Manalsu river which joins the main Beas river.
As you cross the Manalsu river, you can view the ancient temple of the
sage Manu.
Excursions
Rohtang Pass - Just 51 kms away from Manali, Rohtang
Pass is located at a hieght of 3980 m. The pass served as a crucial
trade route and it still remains the gateway to the districts of Lahaul
and Spiti. The Beas Kund, the source of the Beas river, a holy site for
Hindus, as the sage Vyas is said to have meditated at this spot, is also
accessible from the Rohtang Pass.

Adventure and Fishing - The Mountaineering Institute
in Manali is one of the famous adventure sports which organizes skiing,
rock climbing and mountaineering courses. Some of the common trek routes
in Manali are the Bhrigu Lake, Chandratal, and Spiti. For those who love
fishing, Katrain, Raison, Kasol, Larji, and Nagar are some of the ideal
places for trout .
How to Get There
Air - Bhuntar is the nearest airport which is 10 kms
from Kullu and 50 kms from Manali. The airport is connected by Vayudoot
services with Delhi and Chandigarh. Jagson & Continental Airlines
also operates flights from Delhi to Kullu.
Rail - The nearest railhead is at Chandigarh (397 kms
from Kullu and 357 kms from Manali). The other nearest narrow gauge
railheads are Jogindarnagar (126 kms from Kullu & 166 kms from
Manali) with a change at Pathankot and Shimla (240 kms from Kullu &
280 kms Manali) with a change at Kalka.
Road - Kullu and Manali are on the National Highway
No. 21. It is connected by a motorable roads and regular bus services
connect Kullu & Manali to most of the important places in Himachal
Pradesh and the neighboring states.
