Trekking
- Gulmarg makes an excellent base for trekking in the northern Pir
Panjal Range. Nanga Parbat can be seen to the north from several view
points, including Khilanmarg, west and over 1,500 feet up the forested
hillside from Gulmarg. Gulmarg trekking provides an excellent base in
the northern Pir Panjal Range. You can view Nanga Parbat from several
view points. You will find Pir Panjal somewhat rounded when you will
walk up its slopes.
Golf Courses In Gulmarg - Nestled at an altitude of
2, 650, the hill resort got the highest green golf course in the world.
The layout of the Golf course is quiet striking Golf Course was started
by the British who used Gulmarg as a holiday resort and then it was
later on opened to golf lovers in the year 1904. The golf course is
handled by Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation.
Connectivity
Air - The nearest Airport from here is situated in
Badgam District, which is well connected with all the major cities of
the country.
Rail - The nearest railhead is at Jammu and
is well connected
Road - J&K SRTC operates regular deluxe and
ordinary bus services from Srinagar. In winter, the buses operate up to
Tangmarg (11 kms from Gulmarg), the remaining distance being covered
with smaller vehicles. Tourist taxis also operate between Srinagar and
Gulmarg
